McNeese crowd

McNEESE LOG SEPTEMBER

Many students struggle to adjust to their new ways of life in college

…especially when it comes to purchasing groceries. McNeese and Second Harvest Food Bank have opened a community kitchen to make a difference in the fight against hunger. This community kitchen aims to prepare thousands of meals weekly for insecure students, families and the elderly in Southwest Louisiana. The 1,865-square-foot space in the Gayle Hall Annex building has been refurbished with an operating kitchen, that will also be a teaching and learning lab, used to prepare hot meals each week. McNeese students are working with Second Harvest to provide nutrient analyses for all those with dietary needs/concerns.
